S1613 Flat PDC Cutter with Customizable Diameter and Chamfer Designs

S1613 drilling diamond composite sheet .Our company mainly produces polycrystalline diamond composite materials. The main products are diamond composite chips (PDC) and diamond composite teeth (DEC). The products are mainly used in oil and gas drill bits and mining geological engineering drilling tools. PDC is divided into main size series such as 19mm, 16mm, and 13mm according to different diameters, and auxiliary size series such as 10mm, 8mm, and 6mm.

The S1613 PDC flat cutter is a high-performance polycrystalline diamond compact. It consists of a 16mm diamond layer and cemented carbide substrate, manufactured via high temperature and high pressure sintering process. As a core cutting component for PDC drill bits, it features a flat cutting structure that concentrates cutting force and delivers outstanding rock shearing efficiency. This cutter works reliably in medium-hard to hard complex formations, effectively boosting drilling speed and extending overall bit service life. It is a reliable choice for oil & gas well drilling, water well drilling, geological exploration and other drilling operations.

Medium-hard formations: Tight sandstone, limestone, dolomite (compressive strength: 15,000–25,000 psi)
Hard formations: Granite, basalt (compressive strength: 25,000–30,000 psi)
Mixed interbedded formations: Alternating soft and hard rock layers with abrasive particles
Highly abrasive formations: Strata containing quartz, chert and other hard minerals

 Core Product Advantages

Powerful cutting performance
With 16mm large diameter design, it owns larger cutting area and higher rock breaking efficiency. Its cutting capacity is about 20% higher than conventional 1313 cutters.

Excellent wear resistance
Equipped with thickened diamond layer, the abrasion ratio exceeds 40. Its service life is prolonged by over 30% when working in highly abrasive formations.

Superior impact resistance
The diamond layer and carbide substrate are tightly combined with high bonding strength. It can resist strong impact and greatly reduce the risk of cutter chipping and breakage.

Good thermal stability
Adopted customized diamond formula, the cutter resists high temperature and thermal cracking, and adapts to harsh high temperature and high pressure downhole environment.

Stable operating performance
The flat structure ensures even force distribution and stable torque during drilling, bringing smoother and more controllable operation.

Cost-effective
Long service life reduces frequent replacement and tripping operations, cutting down the comprehensive operating cost for large-scale drilling projects.

Precise Size Specifications

Full product range with multiple specifications available, including standard models of 13mm, 19mm and 22mm, as well as thickened and heightened DE series. All products are manufactured with a strict tolerance of ±0.02mm, ensuring tight fitting installation, stable operation and no vibration.

Material and Core Technology

Premium raw materials

Adopts high-density premium cemented carbide substrate combined with high-purity PCD polycrystalline diamond material. The substrate features high hardness while the diamond layer delivers outstanding wear resistance, improving product durability fundamentally.

High temperature & high pressure sintering

Sintered under 5–6 GPa pressure and temperature above 1500℃. The two layers are integrated firmly without delamination or falling off in long-term use.

Precision machining process

Processed by CNC grinding equipment to ensure strict dimensional tolerance and high surface finish. Optimized chamfer design disperses stress concentration effectively.

Application Field

Oil & Gas Drilling
Used as main cutting teeth and gauge teeth for PDC bits, suitable for directional wells and horizontal wells

Water well drilling
Ideal for medium and deep water wells in hard rock formations

Geological exploration
Core drilling and mineral resource exploration

Coal mining
Drilling for gas drainage holes and water detection holes in coal mines and surrounding rock

Geothermal drilling
Fits geothermal well construction, features high temperature resistance and wear resistance

FAQ

Q:What is the difference between 1613 and 1313 PDC cutters?
A:The 1613 model has 16mm diameter, larger cutting size and stronger wear resistance, mainly for medium-hard and hard formations. The 1313 cutter is smaller in diameter with higher tooth density, more suitable for fast drilling in soft to medium-hard formations.

Q:What rock hardness can this cutter handle?
A:Standard version is applicable for formations with compressive strength from 15,000 psi to 25,000 psi. Custom thick diamond layer version can work in ultra-hard abrasive formations over 30,000 psi.

Q:What is the normal service life?
A:Under standard working conditions, the service life ranges from 800 to 1500 working hours. The actual lifespan is affected by formation hardness, abrasiveness and drilling parameters. We can customize high-wear-resistance version to extend service life for harsh working conditions.

Q:Can this cutter be used together with other PDC cutter models?
A:Yes. Many customers match 1613 cutters on bit shoulder and gauge area, and use 1308 or 1313 cutters on central area. Mixed collocation improves overall performance for complex formations.

Q:What is the shelf life of the product?
A:The shelf life is 12 months after delivery. Please store properly in dry environment and avoid violent impact and damp condition.
